15 Days of Welcoming the God

I would first like to shout out and invite you all to check out Confessions of a Country Witch She is hosting a blog party on Welcoming the God back into our lives. I will be a guest blogger and am too excited. Rummaging through my books and writings, and whipping up a couple drawings, to find something perfect! There are two button links on my left sidebar to the specific posts, as well! There will be giveaways and such as well, so please head on over, see if there's any slots left open, or donate if you can!

Anywhoo, I spent the bulk of last night/this morning (til bout 2:30AM) reading all of the February Faerie posts on The Whimsical Cottage and oh how I wish I had been on blogger earlier to participate - but reading all those posts was so much fun and definitely inspired a couple of faerie dreams last night hehe

I was thinking last night, I am so happy I decided to do this on here. The community is much larger than I had first imagined! I still have a personal xanga blog, but barely use it now and just love reading all the updates and hope to find more and more blogs out there, and of course to hopefully post a few good ones myself and eventually gain in followers and all that fun stuff LOL

Today, I'm going to skim through a couple of my books and try and do my drawings for the blog party, just to get a head start since this weekend is busy (three exams from Witch School and an online New Moon Ritual at The Stone Circle ) and the car is suppose to be done tomorrow....It friggen wants to be...2 weeks just to do a safety and e-test...Stupidity if you ask me since I know we're not saving that much money....but Chad called the insurance place this morning and hopefully everything will be good to go by mid-tomorrow. Just hope he remembers we need groceries tonight -_- He did do a random scrub down of the kitchen last night though...but still, we need food LOL

Well, I'm off for now!

Blessed Be

My Book Shelf

So, I got this urge when I got up afternoon (I was up til 5AM doing my new courses at Witch School LOL) to organize some of my books and make a list of the ones I have. I don't know why, but I just did. I also cleaned up and organized my nightstand so it's not as big a mess of unneeded things beside my head anymore hehe I thought, what the hell, I'll share this list. Please, keep in mind I have only fully read a few of them, and started reading a few others. I am going to start re-reading and reading all of them though. Might take a little while with doing the courses, but I'd like to fully read all of them, and of course will copy a few interesting things out on here - or tell of my experiences. Anywhoo, books!

Everyday Magic - Dorothy Morrison
The Witches' Goddess - the Farrars
Divination for Beginners - Scott Cunningham
Earth Power - Cunningham
The Truth about Witchcraft Today - Cunningham
Magical Aromatherapy - Cunningham
Encyclopedia of Herbs - Cunningham (I actually have two copies by accident LOL)
Encyclopedia of Crystal, Gem, and Metal Magic - Cunningham
Complete book of Incense, Oils, and Brews - Cunningham
Wicca - Cunningham (needs to be replaced from someones cat *coughcough*)
Living Wicca - Cunningham (also needs to be replaced for same reason LOL)
Spell Crafts - Cunningham and David Harrington
Sabbath - Wayne Muller
Moon Magick - D.J. Conway
Idiot's Guide to Tarot and Fortune Telling
How to Stir a Magick Cauldron - Silver Ravenwolf
How to Ride a Silver Broomstick - Ravenwolf
Everything Astrology - Trish MacGregor
The Witch in every Woman - Laurie Cabot
Practical Candleburning Rituals - Raymond Buckland
Complete Book of Witchcraft - Buckland (revised edition)
Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft

Tarot - Brian Froud's Faerie Oracle
(I think I have a couple more decks at my parent's, but I attune best with faeries)

So, there's my small list of books I have so far. Yes, I do have an obsession with Cunningham's works if you can't tell. I want to collect them all. I usually try and do a small remembrance ritual on the day of his death...Which I believe is coming up...Yup, March 28th. I was crushed to find out he had passed only like a year prior to finding his amazing works. It would have been a dream to meet him.

Anywhoo, I am beginning with the Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft for reading material. I have fully read through it yearrrs ago, so want to re-read it and remember there being some good lists of Gods and Goddesses, different Diety and tools, etc. Should be fun. On a side note, with the Witchschool courses, I did a small "Shielding" spell for shielding against negative energies, and then a grounding type spell. I was reading it off the screen, but could still feel the intensity of it. It was a nice experience. I have some personal work to do with those courses and have 3 exams in a week (no exam for the meditation course it seems...) I'm taking the Correllian First Degree, Living with Wicca, Introduction to Grimoires, and a beginners Meditation course. I'm enjoying them deeply!

Well, another time.
Blessed Be.

Boredom.... actual randomly written post from me for the first time since creating this blog LOL I.Am.Bored! Severely so, and not tired at all. Got some massive writers block so can't work much on my novel  Ann G.L. if you're interested in reading. I warn, it's a slightly graphic - some sexually - novel and it's part of a challenge my friend and I are doing. 60,000 words in 60 days. Sort of a less stressful version of NaNoWriMo for any familiar with it. So editing and writing isn't the best, but it's all about the word count from Feb. 21st - April 21st. Then we edit and fun stuff to polish for ourselves

Anywhoo, I've played my facebook apps, done all the writing I can do for today, don't feel like drawing, don't feel like starting a new book to read right now, so don't really know what to do. So here I am. LOL I am excited for tomorrow night though. The group I'm a part of is holding a sort of random 'meet and greet' online chat. It's a Wiccan group. The Stone Circle Very small group right now, but sooo friendly and fun to talk with. I have been helping a bit testing their new chat program cuz the four they've used previously had too many problems. They need to keep it free for right now, since it's still such a small group. The woman running it is paying $20/yr for the hosting and doesn't want to add $80 to it just for a different chat program...So lots of testing going on. We'll also be having an online New Moon Ritual on March 4th which will be a lot of fun too. I am super excited! I may also start a couple new online "schools" like Magicka School. Just waiting for one of the girls to get to me with the info and stuff.

Well, suppose some info about me would be a good idea for anyone actually reading LOL

hmmm where to begin. Suppose, I am currently living with my boyfriend in his father's house. We moved here from my home town - 7hrs away! - a little over a year ago for him to join the brick layers union his dad's president of (in back story, he had moved down from here to another city, met a girl, they moved to where I lived, we met at work, yaddayadda). Well, the first like 9 months were me trying to find a job and him basically waiting for work during a slow Summer. He's been working since roughly 9 months now on the same job, and I'm still handing out friggen resumes. I'm going crazy in this house I'll tell you. Anywhoo, we did have a we should -BETTER- have the next one on the road tomorrow....Been waiting two effing weeks for this damned garage for just a safety...*rolls eyes* Saving some money or not, I'd rather have taken it elsewhere and had it done same day...but whatever...not my car. but yea...been without any vehicle of our own for a month almost now and losing my mind since his dad's truck is kicking the bucket cuz he won't just fix the damned breaks (he knows nothing and cares less about vehicles) so he won't let anyone else drive it and we can't fit the three of us in it.
Within all this and a very drunk weekend, I basically bawled I couldn't handle it and wanted to go home...just for a visit and shit...I know financially and for his career we're better off here at least until he gets his red seal. So yea, we talked and I talked to one of my friends from back home (she lives in another city, but only an hour from my parent's, etc) and have semi-decided on me training it to Toronto (almost 4hrs away) and them picking me up and me living at their place for about a month or so...Get on assistance to help out, get my smart serve and shit, and she should be able to hook me up with a waitressing job for the month. Plus, getting to see all my friends and family and stuff on a more frequent basis and save up some money, and get some more experience in another field (I've only ever worked at a call center and a packaging plant) so hopefully when I come back, we have some extra money to start looking into moving into town, and I can apply for a lot more jobs, and will have some experience at it.
WELL, big issue now, as with everything it seems, is - of course - money. The closest train/bus stations are an hours drive away. Tickets only bout $35 max...but I have no proper luggage, will need to pick up a couple of my prescriptions to take with, and need to reactivate my cell phone and top it up (pay-as-you-go)...So...just the stuff I need is damn near $150...Which even though we had a good amount of money aside, apparently I'm told we'll be lucky to get a good stock of groceries when the cars taken care of -_- So, we'll see I suppose...Might be hitting the streets for some shit training at a call center if they're looking this time, or something to even make the money to go in the first place....which then almost defeats the purpose, cuz I'll have a job.... >.<

So, yea...that's a nutshell of my life for the last year basically...I've been down to visit once since we moved. Last Summer 'for' my birthday my friend came and picked me up and I stayed down for a week. Helped them on some moving jobs, made some money...and saw my parents for like 4hrs before we had to drive back up here...It fucking sucked. but yea...This is why I am wanting to start focusing more on my faith and the things important to me...I need some way to destress, since I'm trying desperately to quit smoking at the same time....

On a side note. I have my animals. We have two cats and then his brother's cat lives here. I have two rats, and an African Clawed frog. I want to look at getting either a gecko again or trying to find one of the really tiny tortoise breeds...but not sure if the tank set up would work in this stupid house since our bedroom barely fits us in it really....
but yea, enough venting. I shall find a nice ritual or look for my older BOS to post some fun info stuff next time.

Blessed Be

Slightly Cheesy Wiccan Questionnaire

Do you have a magical/Pagan name? Yes, SilverFox
What does it mean? Cunning, crafty, and while not as precious as gold - just as beautiful.
How did you find Paganism? Sadly, by watching The Craft - and then of course doing real research LOL
How long have you been practicing? Around 10yrs or so although not as actively as I'd like for the last few.
Solitary or group practitioner? Solitary. Partially by choice, partially from lack of others in area.
What is your path? Don't like to pin point. Eclectic/Gardinarian Wicca as far I've seen...Kitchen/Green witch...*shrugs*
Are you out of the broom closet? Very much so!

Who is your patron Deity? I honestly do not know...
What Gods do you worship? I've never really pin pointed specific ones.
Do you fear darkly aspected Gods/Goddess, or rather respect them? Respect where granted. I don't "fear" any types of Gods/Goddesses really.
Do you worship the Christian God? No.
Do you ever worship animals? I suppose respecting them in their whole, yes.
Or plants? Same as above...

Do you regularly commune with nature? I try to. I love being outdoors, when it's warm LOL
Ever walked barefoot in the woods? Yes, but not often...few clean woods around here anymore...
Taken a camping trip just to talk to nature? No, but definitely want to. Haven't been truly camping since I was a kid!
Describe the moment you felt closest to Mother Earth? hmmmm I'm not sure if I could pinpoint. I use to go for walks in the woods behind our house (my parent's) and climb up as high as I could in a couple of the bigger trees.
Do you have a familiar? No, but really want mine to find me...
Have you ever called upon the powers of an animal in ritual? Not that I know of...
Or a plant? Plants are used in almost any ritual I've done, so yes.
Do you hug trees? hehe I use to as a kid. I should when it thaws a bit.
Give them gifts? I use to leave "gifts" when I'd take clippings from our garden.
What is your favourite herb/flower to work with? I love the smell of Lavender and Lilacs.... I love them all though.
What is your favourite tree to work with? I'll have to think about that one...

What is your favourite holiday? Samhain!!
What is your least favourite holiday? I don't think I have a least favourite Wiccan 'holiday' but for outside, Christmas. So much stress and money...All holidays are so commercial now though.
Have you ever held a ritual on a holiday? I use to for every Sabbat, but it's been a while since I've been able to do any sadly.
Ever taken a day off work to celebrate a Pagan holiday? Not yet. One day I will, when things are less judgmental and I don't need a job so badly....
Do you celebrate Yule on the 21 rather than the 25? Yule, yes. Christmas with the rest of the world on the 25th LOL
Have you ever felt the veil thin? umm...Nope.
Ever danced the Maypole? No, but definitely want to!!
Know what the Maypole symbolizes? I remember reading about it years ago, sadly have forgotten the details. *pulls out old books for study*
How do you usually celebrate the Pagan holidays? When I am able to, and if alone, I simply try and gather a few elements of the sabbat (flowers, wood, fibers, colors, etc.) and light corresponding candles. I have a list of Sabbat rituals and usually recite the corresponding one.

Do you use Tarot? Yes.
Do you use runes? I bought a kit once but didn't understand them. I know the meanings of most (have the Love one tattooed) but the way of reading them didn't really make sense to me at the time.
Do you use a pendulum? No, but I want to learn.
Do you use dowsing rods? No.
Do you use astrology? I read astrology stuff...don't think I particularly use it though...
Any other form of divination? Scrying. Ink scrying and flame scrying.

What was the first spell you did? Hmmm...a binding one I believe. (Abusive ex)...
What was the latest? oh wow...ummm...I think a sabbat ritual.
Ever done a love spell? haha Yup...*shakes head*
A job spell? um, luck concerning a job...
A healing spell? Several, yes.
What was the most powerful spell you’ve ever performed? I'm not sure, but I think my self dedication rite.
What deities do you usually call on? I'm not sure if I've ever specifically called on them...

Do you believe in Vampires? I love Vampires...always have....I honestly don't see why something like any "mythology" character couldn't be real in some realm of life. There are also psychic Vampires though...
Werewolves? Don't love them as much, but basically same as above answer.
Shapeshifters? Umm...not as much, but again why not? (would also be damn cool LMAO)
Elves? Favourite Fantasy race. Not so much, but in earlier times and realms of life, yes.
Faeries? Yes. I feel a connection with Faeries like nothing else. I use a Faeries Oracle and know I've seen glimpses and felt their presence.
Dragons? Age of the dinosaurs and all...of course, in one realm or another.
Nymphs? Yes.
Sprites? Yes.
Mermaids? Yes.
Satyrs? umm...not positive if I'm thinking right of what this is. I can't imagine anything not ever being possible to exist before our time, after our time, or beside our's in their own realms of existence.
Ever “seen” any of the above? Faeries, yes.
Ever talked to any of the above? Again, Faeries yes.
Ever used any of the above in magic? Three for three. Faeries LOL
Do you have one of them as a personal guardian? I'm not sure. Maybe? I'll have to check into that more.

Do you see a rabbit, a man or a woman in the moon? hmmmm...Never thought of it that way. I don't know, need to do some Moon watching.
Own a cat? Own two currently, have many at my parent's, and will have more in the future.
When you meditate, what does your happy place look like? I've been practicing with The Tree Meditation so right now a big open field with long grass and pink flowers (kind of like cherry blossoms) and a warm wind and big mighty oak tree behind me.
Do you work with Chakras? I've read about them, but have yet to work with them myself.
Do you believe in past lives? Yes, I have seen glimpses of my own...
If so, describe a few briefly: I've only seen one of mine, and how I died.
Do you believe in soul mates? Yes, but not so much for falling in love, marriage, etc. Soul Mates are just two inseparable souls...Can be best friends, animals, and a lot more.
Do you have a spirit guide? I'm not sure. I've done an animal spirit guide exercises and was shown a wolf but I haven't looked into it much from there.
Is it always love and light? In theory, yes. In our hearts, yes. Not always in our minds or out of our mouths though :D
